Can I save money by canceling my second Direct TV account?

Am I able to cancel my Direct T.V at my vacation home and just request a couple of extra receivers for my primary home and hook them up to my vacation home and avoid paying for two different accounts?

oh by the way..will H.D receviers work on an existing installation that wasn't set up for HD originally?
