Can i use existing equipment to connect new direct tv service?

I just moved to a new house in which the previous owner had direct tv as do I. Direct TV requires me to sign a new contract to come out and connect me again.

So my question is can I just connect my existing Direct TV reciever to the the Direct TV dish already in place at the new place?
