Cancel Direct TV Service problems.

I move to a place condo where they do not allow to have a dish , i did call direct tv to let them know, they put me on hold for 6 months , then now they start sending me a bill, even do i don't have a direct tv any more.
They toll me if I want to cancel now will cost me 500.00 dollars. Please help!
Terrence Comment: As far as I know, once you sign up Direct TV service, you are bond for 2 years contract and if you cancel their service before the contract period end, you will be imposed with termination charges..
But the problem most customer face is the Sales representative do not tell their customers about this piece information when they approach their customers..
Since you had signed the contract, it means you had agree with their term and condition.. Try to reduce your direct Tv cost by downgrade it to the cheapest package and wait until the contract end.. or may be switch your Direct TV to your friends or relatives and collect back the monthly bills from them?
