We are long term subscribers who are quite satisfied with the quality of the service - the technical quality, the number of HD channels and customer service are significantly better than cable or Direct TV other competitors.
We just have one question. Why is it that Direct TV is aimed at twelve year-olds? Direct TV movie offerings and other optional programming all seem to have a target audience of pre-adolescents.
Even Direct TV commercials are aimed at the twelve-year-old mind. Why don't they feature movies that are something other than two hours of explosions and junior high boys' fantasies about women?
When Direct TV do feature a movie for grown-ups it is usually relegated to one channel and is soon gone while bad pictures that lasted only a week at our local theater because they ran out of twelve-year olds often last several months.
We have the resources to pay for much more expensive packages the one we currently subscribe to, but the additional programming is so skewed to junior high boys that it is not worth it.
In case Direct TV programmers have not examined the statistics there are a lot more of us who are not twelve year olds.
I won't comment on how many there are with twelve year old minds. As it stands now we probably watch five channels consistently and maybe pay for one of Direct TV movies three or four times a year.
If Direct TV marketing staffs - who seem to have twelve year old minds-would wake up to demographic reality.
My guess is that Direct TV shall increase their profits and customer satisfaction.
Put all the explosions and variations of Porky's on a twelve year old channel or at least offer adults a channel that does not hurt our hearing, treat women as junior high sex fantasies and actually has some intelligence.
