If you signed something when they installed it you signed a contract. Always read the fine print....it explains early cancellation fees.
They hook you if you rent their equipment. Dish has them too,but not as high as these nuts.

I accepted offer over the phone...requested printed information with contract details...never received...I had difficult time understanding how to use the system so I cancelled it.
My VISA was promptly billed/actually $411 yanked from my VISA. I wrote several letters to Direct TV, which were totally ignored. Never received anything in writing, nor was it mentioned there would be an early termination fee.
Finally wrote a letter to the Attorney General in the state of Colorado, where Direct TV is based. the Attorney General forwarded my letter to the CA Attorney General.
It is being kept on file in the event other cases come up, at which point it can be determined unfair practices are being perpetrated in CA by Direct TV.

They got me too. I am still fighting with head honcho over the price I was promised. I should of read the fine print first.
They wouldn't let me use the dish and receiver I already had.Which was paid for by me years ago. Just as soon as contract is up I am going to Internet TV and a converter box. Dish isn't much better had them too. Money hungry is all they are.
