Please note that all Direct TV Equipment is provided by Direct TV, free when you take any of the Direct TV package. Direct TV system itself had build of few key components, which are:

1. Direct TV Dish

2. Direct TV Receiver + Remote Control

3. Direct TV Card

Direct TV Dish is used for receive satellite signals that broadcast from the Satellite station.

The received satellite signals will be transmitted to the Direct TV Receiver; Direct TV Receiver will then convert the satellite signals into your favorite Direct TV Program. Direct TV Dish

Usually the Direct TV Dish is installed at the edge of your roof top, and it required an open space that not blocking by any trees, in order to received full satellite signals.

If your Direct TV Dish unable to receive sufficient satellite signals, then you may receive very bad picture quality and sound quality on your TV screen.

Please note that Direct TV also provide free installation to your whole Direct TV system if you are new Direct TV customer but with condition; the cable distance between your Direct TV receiver and your Direct TV dish is within 125 feet.

If the cable distance had exceeded 125 feet, Direct TV will charge you for extra cable length. If you wish to order Direct TV pay per view or On Screen called ID feature, then you will need to keep the distance between your house phone jack and the receiver within 25 feet.

If you do not required features above, you no need to have the phone line to plug into your receiver. The Direct TV card will be slot into your Direct TV receiver in order to keep your Direct TV system working.

You can just left your Direct TV card inside the receiver regardless you on or off your Direct TV system. Try not to touch the exposed part of your Direct TV card if possible, if the connection between your Direct TV card and the receiver is loosen, you may unable to watch your Direct TV Program.

The receiver remote control is use to switch Direct TV channels, turn on and off your Direct TV system, or set parental control to specific channels if you wish.

You can also use the remote control for your program viewing features such as picture quality adjustment like brightness, contrast, volume.

Please understand that Direct TV do not give their equipment to you free, they are leasing it to you. You will need to pay for the monthly leasing fees.
