Direct TV Bad service

I have gone to many Indy 500 races and find it the most exciting sporting event each year. This year instead of attending live, I decided to go to Olympic Village at Squaw Valley (South Face Condos Unit 350) for a Memorial Day vacation.
I expected to be able to watch the Indy 500 live (hopefully in HD). Unfortunately, Olympic Village is supplied TV service by Direct TV.
This morning, the Direct TV service for a number of stations including the ABC channel (isn't that just one of the most basic channels?) would not work.
I called the Management Organization for Olympic Village and they said they had already contacted your organization and complained. Direct TV was trying to fix the service.
However after almost 4 hours into the race your service still does not work.
I have over 30 years of experience in Hi-Tech, Internet, Hi-Tech Customer Support and IT operations.
In today’s real business environment any company that can not restore service to a customer that amount of time is completely unacceptable. May Direct TV system of delivering signal RIP in the stone ages where they deserve.
There is no excuse, no rationalization for such and outage.
For what its worth!
FYI: I am listening to the audio of the Indy 500 on a cable/internet connection Olympic Village at Squaw Valley. This service does not seem to be affected by the disturbance (in the force or what ever) that is causing Direct TV problems.
I am sure I could have watched the race live on my laptop, if I had paid for it.
I’m my lifetime, have had Direct TV as a service provider for only a few months at my residence (only after I inherited the service from the previous resident).
Direct TV sporadic outages caused me to obtain Comcast Cable within a few months. There service is not perfect, but it is light years ahead of Satellite.
And most important, if they have a problem, they seem to actually try to fix the problem.
Next year, I probably will go to the Indy! Thanks for ruining a large part of this vacation!
