Direct TV is offering different channel line up on different Direct TV packages.

Basically, if you are taking their packages that come with more channels, then the cost per channel will be lower, but of course, the overall monthly subscription fees will be higher due to more channels subscription.

I will suggest you to go through the Direct TV Channel Lineup in different package in details, and only choose the package that you are interested.

Are you ready? Let me share with you on what I know :) Please take note that no matter which Direct TV packages you are taking, it is included with local channels for free; within the same state.

For etc, Direct TV customers stay in Arizona only get free local channels in Arizona and Direct TV customers stay in Atlanta will only get free local channels from Atlanta.

Direct TV is offering 4 kind of packages for you to chose from, which name as Family Choice Package, Family Choice Xtra, Family Choice Ultimate and the Premier Package.

Family Choice Package is cost you at USD 60.99 / month. But Direct TV will charge USD 29.99 for first 12 month. ( After rebate )

Please note that you will need to submit the rebate form to Direct TV to get the first 12 month rebate price, and the rebate is subject to Direct TV approval, not compulsory discount from them.

Family choice package is included with 150 Direct TV Channel Lineup, and 40+ channels of the 150 channels can be view as HD ( High Definition )channels. But, please understand that you will need to subscribe to their HD packages, then only you can view their HD channels.

And to subscribe to their HD channels, you will need to own a set of HDTV, either LCD or plasma TV is no problem. If you are worry, you can call up Direct TV and let them know your HDTV model, to see whether it is fit to Direct TV HD receiver that supply by Direct TV or not.

Family Choice Xtra Package will charge you USD 65.99 / month, and First 12 month is USD 34.99 / month for new customer after rebate ( Again, rebate term same as package above )

It is come with 210+ Channels and 50 channels of it can be view as HD channels ( HD channels term same as above package )

Family Choice Ultimate Package will charge you USD 79.99 / month, and First 12 month is USD 39.99 / month for new customer after rebate ( Again, rebate term same as package above )

It is come with 225+ Direct TV Channel Lineup and 55 channels of it can be view as HD channels ( HD channels term same as above package )

Premier Package will charge you USD 114.99 / month, and First 12 month is USD 83.99 / month for new customer after rebate ( Again, rebate term same as package above )

It is come with 285+ Direct TV Channel Lineup and 105 channels of it can be view as HD channels ( HD channels term same as above package )

I wish to highlight to you that, monthly subscription fees is not the only Direct TV cost that will be bill on you. There are also some other costs that you shall look into it; which the Direct TV promoter may "forget" to tell you :P

Direct TV provide you free equipment, that is true, but not the whole fact.

They will charge you equipment leasing cost if you plan to have more than 1 TV in your house to view Direct TV program.

And if any of the Direct TV equipment is not working, you will need to pay for the replacement or repair cost on the defected equipment.

If you do not want to take this risk, then you will need to take their equipment protection plan, that cost you extra USD 6.98 / month, but the equipment defective cost will be borne by Direct TV.

Besides, You will need to pay for monthly DVR cost or HD DVR cost, if you take any of it from Direct TV. The monthly HD DVR cost will be vary depend on which Direct TV package you take.

In my personal comment, It is not good enough just to pick your Direct TV package base on the channels lineup in different package alone.
