Direct TV Channel Problems

I get beautiful pictures on some channels and "searching for satellite signal" on others. It turns out that my even number transponders work fine and my odd # receive "0" signal. Direct TV suggested that I might have an LNB problem while KVH it is on a boat suggested that I had a bad cable. I switched the leads coming out of the LNB and nothing! I have tightened all connections and nothing other than my signal went to a "93-95" on the transponders that do get a signal. Any thoughts on what to do next?
