Direct TV customer complaint

As a long time customer, I expected better treatment.. WE called Direct TV customer service to modernize our equipment to HD, and found a substantial upgrade fee...
It seemed that the best way to remedy the situation was to change services.. We called (9-24-10) to cancel their service, and suddenly lower contract charges. through Vidia, and Christine of customer service, free movie channels, Lifetime HD with auto bill pay, are promised if we stay with Direct TV..
Great! We will take it.. Today, (10-07-10), we received the new HD DVR, but what happened to the movie channels?
We called to report the error and was told that we were not getting any of what was promised by Direct TV staff even the monthly fee was not reduced as promised?!
I then spoke to their speciaalist (Tina) 10-07-10 and was told that we were not elligable for reduced monthly fees or the packages promised by Vidia and Christine.
We then decided within the same day to rescend our agreement(.WHAT AGREEMENT.)!!!. Tina said that a cancellation fee of $480.00 will be imposed..
We then called to complain on the poor customer service that Direct TV provided, and was told by a honest rep Eric,and that the cancellation fee would be waived..
Direct TV made False promises to bind us to a contract with no intention of delivering. That is fraud in my book and I will be contacting our Attorney Genaerals office to file a complaint against them.
They have a lot of work to do to retain their customer base!
