Direct TV DVR Question

by Michelle
(Los Angeles, USA)

When I use my DVR to record a show, I have to have that channel on in order to record it otherwise i will cancel the recording.

Doesn't this defeat the purpose of the DVR? What if I wanted to watch 2 programs but they come on at the same time?

So I decide to record show A to watch at a later time and watch show B now. But it wont let me watch show B. I have to keep on the channel that Show A is on.

Terrence Comment: Hi Michelle, as far as I know, the current DVR allow you to record 2 shows at the same time while you are watching the 3rd show.. Are you getting your DVR from Direct TV or you buy it yourself?
