Shall I get the Direct TV Service if I am the present Cable TV service subscriber?

Well, it depend on your demand. If you are a full time TV fans and love to stay your all days in front of your TV set, then Direct TV will have more alternative programming choice for you to have.

But, Direct TV programming is charge higher monthly bills compare to cable TV if you factor in all the Equipment leasing cost, equipment protection plan, and the monthly subscription fees after 12 month rebate.. Direct TV keep claiming that they can provide very good picture quality compare to cable TV company, yes it is true.. Direct TV picture quality is better, but again, cable TV picture quality is not that bad.. depend on how demand-able you are.

Direct TV FAQ: Will bad weather interfere with your Direct TV signal reception?

Yes, You may temporary loss signal and unable to view Direct TV programming if you are getting very bad weather near your house, such as rain storming.

And, if your Direct TV dish is freeze with snow, the satellite signals receipt will be reduced, and you may get bad TV picture quality. What you shall do is clean the snow that stick on your Direct TV Dish by putting same salt water on it to make the snow melt.

Then, you can spray some WT40 liquid to the dish surface after it had been cleaned about once a week. It helps to prevent the snow to stick on your Direct TV Dish easily.

Direct TV also introduce their accessory that installed at your Direct TV Dish, that know as heated dish. It used to heat your dish to make the snow melt by itself.

If the satellite signals still not returned after the bad weather had passed, you can turn off your receiver, unplug all the connection cable to your receiver.

Try to reconnect all the cable 5 minutes later and turn on your receiver. Then your Direct TV system shall be working again.

What is the parental controls feature - "Lock and Limits" DIRECT TV use for?

Well, this is the lock out feature that offer by Direct TV, for you to set the password in order to access into any Direct TV Channel. For etc, Adult programming or violence programming.

Direct TV FAQ: How shall i view the Direct TV channels schedule from my TV screen?

First, you will need to press the "Guide" button with your Direct TV remote, then you can choose the Direct TV channel you want to by pressing the arrow key on your remote.

The on-screen program guide allow you to look ahead to the next day’s programming by chose the hour increments you want. You can view the channel schedule up to 14 days in advance.

Direct TV FAQ: If I move to another location, can I take my DIRECT TV System with me to my new home?

Yes. You can just unplug the Direct TV receiver cable, then take the receiver and remote control to your new house. ( Do not forget your TV set :P )

But before that, you will need to call Direct TV mover department at 1-888-388-6683 to schedule an appointment to dismantle your Direct TV Dish and reinstall in your new house.

Please note that Direct TV only move your dish one time for you free once a year, if you want to move your house more than one time a year, they will charge you accordingly for moving the dish for you :)
