Direct TV HD Tivo

Tivo is a pioneer brand of DVR ( Digital video recorder ) in United States. Tivo is not belong to Direct TV. Initially, Tivo is working with Direct TV to provide DVR service to Direct TV program.

However, later on Direct TV has come out with their own DVR service. Basically DVR is a stand alone device that able to record, rewind, replay, pause, fast forward your Direct TV programming.

Standard DVR will only able to perform features above to standard programming, whereby HD DVR will able to perform features above to both standard programming and HD programming.

Direct TV HD Tivo



You can record 2 shows at the same time when you are watching the 3rd show. You will need 1 set of standard DVR to install in each receiver.

Whereby when come to HD DVR, you only need 1 set of HD DVR to be installed in your house, and it can provide DVR features to all of your TV set.

It seem like Tivo now is no longer needed by Direct TV? Not really, Tivo is now currently working with few online database website, such as youtube, Netflix, Blockbuster on demand, that allow you to view these database movie, shows, picture and video from your house TV set.

But, they are now currently working with Direct TV again to come out a new device that name as Tivo HD DVR, that will be officially launched in beginning of 2012.

The Tivo HD DVR do have the storage capacity to record 100 hours of HD programming or 400 hours of standard programming. You can also access over 6000 on demand show with no extra cost.

But this device will only available in certain states in United States only, as listed below:

* Chicago, IL

* Denver, CO

* Los Angeles, CA

* New York, NY

* Philadelphia, PA

* Phoenix, AZ

* Sacramento, CA

* San Francisco, CA

* Seattle, WA

* Washington D.C.
