Direct TV Installation
" A step by step simple guide "
Are You plan to order for a Direct TV Installation at your house? I wish to share with you some of my opinions on this topic.
When you order a direct tv system, they will always include the standard installation service in the package you order. The catch is, how to define the word "standard installation"?
Standard Direct TV Installation will include:-
1. Appropriate hardware to mount and ground your dish on the outside of your dwelling.
Remember to request the installer so that not install your dish too high that you can reach it easily by your broom. Why? Simple :) So that you are able to clean the snow that stuck on it during winter time.
A Direct TV Dish that covered with snow might have poor signal reception.. which end up you cant watch your favorite channel until the snow melt.
2. Route all cables to the TV's either through an exterior wall (frame or one layer of masonry) or from a basement.
Connect your DIRECTV Receiver to your current TV, audio receiver, VCR and/or DVD player.
3. Give you a mini-lesson about your system.
4. Activate your service.
Important Note:
If you request or require anything above and beyond standard Direct TV installation, such as additional receivers, extensive wiring, relocation of telephone jacks or special installation hardware or accessories, you will pay the installer for those additional services at the time of the installation.
You should discuss any additional service requirements and costs with your installer prior to the start of the installation.
Additional services for which you will pay the installer directly may include: second receiver installation, second television hook-up, stereo system hook-up, chimney mount, pole mount, additional coax cable run over 100', and wall fishing of coax cable.
Important Tips:
DIRECTV's satellites are located over the equator south of Texas. You must have a Southern exposure, unobstructed by tall buildings or trees, where the satellite dish is to be installed.
Renters must have written permission from your landlord to show the installer prior to the start of the installation.
Home Owners Associations may restrict where your dish may be installed. Please make sure to clear your planned installation with your HOA if there is a restrictive covenant.
