Direct TV International Programming

by Philip
(Dayton, Oh)

What are my real choices? The apartment I live in does not allow two dishes. I would like to receive the Philippine channels and regular programming.

I am not concerned about local channels or HD, but I would like to continue to use the DVR portion of my HD receiver.

Solutions given so far:
1. Give up local channels on 119 degrees and order a 36 inch disk.

2. Give up your HD receiver and order a new receiver for $69 and change your dish. You will loose local and HD programming.

3. Get your apartment to allow two dishes and you can get the Philippine channel, local and HD programming on one HD receiver.

Our friend in Indiana is able to receive Local and regular Direct TV as well as the Philippine channel on one direct TV dish.

I live in Ohio and Direct TV insists that there is no way to receive direct TV in the US and receive the Philippine channel on one dish.

Over the months I have tried to get answers from Direct TV on how to do this with one dish. They have given me different options and some of their solutions contradict each other or leave me confused.

As long as I have the right receiver and as long as the dish can pick up the needed satellite signals I should be able to receive all programming on one dish like my friend in Indiana.

Terrence Comment: Hi Philip, I hope that I would able to help but unfortunately that I am not "technical" enough..

Let me post up your question here and hope there are some of my technical base site visitors able to help you.

Come on guys, please help Philip if you know the answer :)
