Direct TV is a Theft and Poor service

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to get some assistance from a true decision making individual, who may also have some concern for the company image and its customers.

In July I started service with Direct TV company. At that time the Direct TV installer stole from me. I called more times than I care to count from the same night he left and for weeks after that.

All I got were empty promises and the run around. Until finally a Direct TV staff had enough guts to tell me that Direct TV was not going to do anything and I should call the police.

And every time I called in and had to retell the story the notes on my account were either missing or incorrect.

Finally I called the police and they were able to track the guy down and I had to press charges on him myself.

However, none of my merchandise was ever returned. And the attitude I got from Direct TV was "Oh well.." I asked several times if I could just cancel my account.

If this way I was treated as a new customer again, the answer changed from person to person. But basically during the time I was given the run around my period to cancel had run out.

Ok, the satellite service was fine but I never got the sour taste of the service out of my mouth. So I opted to pay my bill on line and that way I would not have any contact with any unskilled, ill informed Direct TV staff.

On the day before Thanksgiving (Wednesday) I make a $50.00 payment and it was accepted and the funds were taken out of my account.

As I am about to go to my second job on Saturday I get a call from some who failed to identify who she was and the company she represented.

I was just told that I had a past due balance of 140 something and I need to pay immediately or my Direct TV service would be interrupted.

I asked first who are you and where are you calling me from. Then she said her name was Kaila form Direct TV. I asked her to please explain to me what she was talking about?!

I had just made a payment on Wednesday and that should not have left a balance of 140 whatever.

Kaila told me that I had reversed the charges I had made on a previous payment. I told her I had done no such thing and had used my same card to pay the payment on Wednesday.

I asked her to verify the last 4 on the card to make sure she was talking to the correct person. She refused and very rudely demanded payment now.

She wanted payment NOW and I could not use my card and the payment that I had made on Wednesday was not going to be credited to my account or returned to me.

Again I told her this makes no sense to me and she continued to be belligerent so I asked to speak with some one else. She demanded again that I just need to pay now or my service would be interrupted.

I had the money that was not an issue it was the manner she was speaking to me that put me off.

Kaila put me on hold for a very long time and during the time we were on the phone; she disconnected my service, at this point I am just too disappointed with the whole company and it provide poor service.

However she finally connects me to a man and I explain to him the problem I was having. And told him that I have no problem fixing what ever problem but because it was Saturday and I was on my way to work I had no way of going to the bank to see what happened.

I don’t use checks I pay with my debit card or cash. I could not stop by the bank and Western union because I was on my way to work and frankly I was not going to pay western union to pay my bill when Direct TV are holding more than half of my monthly bill for no reason!

I asked what kind of proof from the bank did they need to prove? I did not reverse the charges and he had no clue much like Kaila he wanted payment (he was somewhat more understanding).

I asked to look at my history and all the crap I have been with Direct TV in a matter of 4 months and I have never been late. So he said he would give me till Monday to go to the bank and get proof but he still could not tell me what proof he needed.

I have contacted my bank and they do not show where anything was returned or reversed from Direct TV.

At this point I would like to cut all ties with Direct TV company but because I am under contract I can’t and your employees know that and treat people as such.

I hope Direct TV take that line of CRAP off your website about excellent customer service and take a good look at their employees.

I am the Sr. Manager of HR for the company I work for and would never tolerate such poor customer service form any of my staff.
