Direct TV offer Bad Customer Service

I just want to say direct tv does not have much of a customer service department. I have the protection policy so fixing the problem won't cost me if I could ever get someone out to fix the receiver.
When I called they told me to unplug the receiver but when I plugged it back in I couldn't even pick up the few channels that I was getting.
They scheduled me for an appointment...and gave me a four hour time period 4 days down the road and someone has to wait around until they come.
What happened to customer service in the United States? I sure hope this company doesn't get any stimulated money...when they get ready to go out of business.
