I am not sure how you got taken advantage of by Direct TV but you are not alone. There are 40,000 complaints to the BBB, and that is a crazy amount of complaint.
So much so that they are tied up in court litigation to face charges of "unfair sales practices," including "hiding fees, planned rate changes and terms that call for automatic renewals."
I am so happy to work for an employer that is reputable and that beats Direct TV in Value, Customer Satisfaction, and Loyalty.
If you are wonder who that is, it's DISH Network. We are proud to exceed our customers expectations time after time and provide the most bang for your buck!

I changed from dish network to Direct TV. I was pulled in by their low price for 1 year. I ask several times about the price and if there was anything I had to do to get the lower price.
I was amazed that it was there without me having to sign up for anything. Boy I was wrong. Even after asking the operator what else I had to do to get the lower rate and not being told..
I was never told by Direct TV that I have to apply for the rebate on line. I ask several times and even questioned about my bill.
They said it takes a month sometimes to get the lower rates, however I would get them for 1 year.
They never ask me or told me to go to the website and sign up for the rebate. Plus their customer service sucks!
Everytime you call Direct TV, I think they add a charge to the bill. I am considering moving back to Dish Network and just wonder if they can hold me to a 2 year contract since I did not get the discount rates.
My opinion is that Direct TV will not tell you anything until it is to late to receive it..
