There are certain models of Direct TV Receiver that come with DVR feature. DVR is abbreviation of Digital video recorder. It helps you to record, rewind, pause and replay of your favorite Direct TV Show. Before that, please note that there are 2 types of receiver, which is standard DirecTV DVR Receiver and HD Receiver. Standard receiver only allow you to watch Direct TV standard programming, whereby HD Receiver will allow you to watch both standard programming and HD Programming. And, they will charge USD 10.00 / month per DVR set, no matter standard DVR or HD DVR. But, Direct TV will charge you extra USD 10.00 / month on the HD Programming. And, Direct TV HD DVR is known as wholehome DVR, that you can share the DVR features from the same set of DVR within all of the HD receiver in your house. Well, you can play the movie you record from any set of your receiver in another receiver within the same house. For example, you can record the show in your living hall, and watch the recorded show in your masterbedroom receiver. Even better, you can pause your current watching Direct TV show in your living hall receiver, and resume the paused show in your masterbedroom receiver set :) Besides, you only need to pay leasing fees for 1 set of HD DVR to allow all receiver sets in your house to come with DVR feature, whereby you need to pay for each individual standard DVR leasing fees to all of your standard receiver.
