You can also set your DVR in advance to let your receiver on and it will auto activate the record exercise as per the preset time. If you are a new Direct TV Customer, you can request them to send you a Direct TV receiver set with DVR feature; it is free of charge. They will just charge you some minor leasing fees, which is much lower than the original receiver price. However, they are just borrow the receiver to you without charging you any rental fees.
