Disappointed With Direct TV Non Service

by Jack
(Hemet, CA)

I have for several months now tried to get the TV connected to my second receiver working properly.

My one receiver works perfectly off of the same outside dish. I am asked if I am in front of the erratic TV, press this and go to the list of 161 TV makes, etc. etc -- switch receivers, check that coax connections are tight, etc.

I have spent hours several times on this. So I subscribed to monthly service charge of $5.99. A Direct TV service man was working a few doors down from my house and I explained the frequent notice "Seeking a satellite" on the one TV while the other one is working fine and that sometimes the second tv will be able to access high numbered stations and not others.

He said I needed to call for a service appointment. So after much effort to get and communicate with a customer representative, I turned on the sometimes screwed up TV and receiver went to station 242 then 243 as requested and it was working fine as it does most of the time.

She then said:" You can't schedule a service call, your TV is working!"
