False Direct TV Promise

We signed up our neighbors to direct tv this week , now on tv it says that if you sign someone up that you and that person you signed up would receive $100 and we would also towards our next billing. Well when they went to get their package which they did order they smaller one because they do not live here year round they were told that neither of us could get the $100 because they were ordering a small package. It does not say anything about the size of the package you are ordering on tv so to me that is false advertisement . We got them for you as a customer so we get nothing for it? Not a good way to do business. We have been a customer of direct tv for 3 years after having dish network for years so i think we should get something for giving Direct TV a new customer.
