High Direct TV Bills that not make sense!

Every month i get a bill that is higher than the month before that.
When i called customer service to "downgrade" they say i have to pay the existing bill first. there are always charges and so called "credits" that don't make sense.
I live in a rural area and don't have access to cable - Satellite TV is my only option; i pay over $100/month to watch tv!
