Long Wait Direct TV Activation Time

I find it disturbing that I have to wait 1 full week for Direct TV service. I have 1 tv completely down, 3 others are slowly losing channels.
By the end of the day I will most likely be completely out of service. If this was the phone company or power service or even Service one for my household appliances, the worst case scenario would be 24 hrs.
This is not what I call good customer service.
