Moving a Direct TV Box

I frequently move my son's Direct TV box down into the kitchen and connect to a line that i have run from his box for an additional 60 ft. There are no splitters, just barrels after his connection....sometimes it can't find the signal....sometimes it does..

Any suggestions or reasons why this is occurring? Thanks.
