Need help on Direct TV Remote

I have tried EVERY "trick" that the internet has to offer to get this Direct TV remote to work. NOTHING works. I have an RCA TV with a built-in VHF player. Can you PLEASE help us find out what the problem is with this remote. I look forward to your prompt answer. Terrence Comment: Whats the problem with your remote? What is the model?
