One Way Agreements

When I signed up with Direct TV I was given a price that I would be charged for the first two years and had to sign a two year contract.
On the first bill I was charged a much higher rate that what I had been told. When I called to correct it I was told that Direct TV could not get the rate down to what had been promised by the sales person that I had signed up with.
I agreed to pay the higher amount due to not wanting to switch providers again. For the next several months I had to call Direct TV in an attempt to correct my overcharged bill.
Customer service always apologized saying that they were shocked at how much trouble that I had with my bill.
I finally got tired of the monthly hour long phone calls to Direct TV to try and straighten out my bill so I canceled my service with them.
Now they want me to pay an early cancellation fee due to canceling before the contract was up. They are threatening to send the bill to collections.
I have a perfect credit rating and have never dealt with a company like this before. I can guarantee that I will spread the word to warn everyone that I can in my community about Direct TV.
I guess Direct TV has a one way policy on their agreements. They can break them by not charging you what they promised (over and over)but you cant break them with a legitimate cause like being over billed month after month.
