" Looking for Easy Solution for your Portable Direct TV Receiver? "
There are some people asking me that is there any portable DirecTV Receiver in the market so that they can carry their favorite channels along even they are not in home :) For my understanding, there are portable dish and portable TV in the market, but I can't find any information about portable Direct TV Receiver in the market. If there is anyone has any information about this kind of "high tech" receiver, please send me an email so that I can share it with all of our visitors :) Ok, let put aside the portable direct TV Receiver and come back to out common Direct TV receiver :P What is it for? Direct TV Receiver is the end component in the entire Direct TV system. The receiver has four essential jobs: It de-scrambles the encrypted signal. In order to unlock the signal, the Direct TV receiver needs the proper decoder chip for that programming package. The provider can communicate with the chip, via the satellite signal, to make necessary adjustments to its decoding programs. The provider may occasionally send signals that disrupt illegal de-scramblers, as an electronic counter measure (ECM) against illegal users. It takes the digital MPEG-2 signal and converts it into an analog format that a standard television can recognize. In the United States, Direct TV receivers convert the digital signal to the analog NTSC format. Some dish and receiver setups can also output an HDTV signal. It extracts the individual channels from the larger satellite signal. When you change the channel on the receiver, it sends just the signal for that channel to your TV. Since the receiver spits out only one channel at a time, you can't tape one program and watch another. You also can't watch two different programs on two TVs hooked up to the same receiver. In order to do these things, which are standard on conventional cable, you need to buy an additional receiver. It keeps track of pay-per-view programs and periodically phones a computer at the provider's headquarters to communicate billing information. Direct TV Receivers have a number of other features as well. They pick up a programming schedule signal from the provider and present this information in an onscreen programming guide. Many receivers have parental lockout options, and some have built-in digital video recorders (DVRs), which let you pause live television or record it on a hard drive. While digital broadcast satellite service is still lacking some of the basic features of conventional cable (the ability to easily split signals between different TVs and VCRs, for example), its high-quality picture, varied programming selection and extended service areas make it a good alternative for some. With the rise of digital cable, which also has improved picture quality and extended channel selection, the TV war is really heating up. Just about anything could happen in the next 10 years as all of these television providers battle it out :)Direct TV Receiver is the hardware that converts the signal from the satellite dish into sound and vision. At first, this is all that Direct TV receivers were able to do, but with interactive television becoming increasingly popular, consumers are demanding more services and options from Direct TV. The most up-to-date Direct TV receivers will also act as a video, and are often equipped with parental control facilities. It is now possible to pause live transmissions with your Direct TV receiver. It will automatically record the action you miss, and play it back when you return to the television. This means that you’ll never have to miss any more touchdowns because of a telephone call that probably turned out to be a wrong number… With up to 35 hours of 100% digital playback, Direct TV receivers are now canceling out the need for video recorders. No more messy tapes lying around the house and no more missing programmed because the video timer was too complicated to operate. Today’s Direct TV receivers will also allow you to restrict access to movies based on the motion picture rating system. This is a very useful facility for parents who like control over what their children are watching. Of course you can also turn this feature off, meaning that you can still watch any movie you choose. You will also be able to set limits on pay-per-view spending, and block the viewing of entire channels. Standard Direct TV receivers will convert the digital signal (usually MPEG-2 format) into an analogue NTSC format. If you are interested in HDTV, you will need a different receiver, which can be purchased separately through your satellite provider. Prices and offers vary, so please check with you provider for more information. If you do take advantage of HDTV, it is advisable to have a television set in 16:9 ratios. If you can afford it, some plasma screen TV’s are now equipped with built in HDTV receivers. By 2006, the FCC hopes to have completely phased out analogue broadcasting, so there will be a significant increase in the number of television stations broadcasting in HDTV in the next two years. If you have an analogue television set, you will either need to replace it with a digital one, or purchase a set-top box in order to convert the digital signal into analogue. Most satellite providers are now offering more than one Direct TV receiver when you sign up to their services. This means you could have up to six (but more commonly, four), different televisions in your house all viewing different satellite channels at the same time, all operating through one satellite dish. Usually this is a special offer for the first three, or even six months, and then you will obviously have to pay more than if you were just receiving the service through one satellite receiver. Again, offers are continuously changing, so please check with your satellite provider or local dealer for more information. In fact, I am now wondering is that portable direct TV receiver really can appear in front of all of us? I can't imagine how much it shall cost :( It sounds impossible that all the complex duty bare by the common receiver can transfer to a tiny portable direct TV receiver in future. If that is the case, more issue will arise surrounding this portable direct TV receiver, such as: How big is this portable direct TV receiver coverage area?
