Purchase own equiment vs Direct TV installed

Can I have Direct TV install one HD receiver then purchase on the market additional receivers and hook up myself? I need 4 additional receivers all together.

Terrence Comment: Well, I suggest you to contact Direct TV representative to see whether they allow you to do so.

Even they allow you to do so verbally, it is better for you to get a black and white agreement from them to prevent future dispute.
