Missing Channels and Even Transponders by: Anonymous
When I run the signal test, It appears that all the even numbered transponder's signal strengths are zero. This has happened in that past.
Does anyone know what the problem is. The service gave be a new lnb and replaced a couple connectors the last time this happened.
Terrence Comment: It is probably the loose of your Direct TV Dish position that make it unable to receive maximum satellite signals.
You need 2 people to fix this, say A and B. A need to stand in front of your TV set with the satellite signal strength screen on, while B need to climb up to the roof to reach your Direct TV Dish.
B shall Slightly move around the dish, and A shall inform B that if the signal strength reception has been change to "good" ( the figure shall more than 70% )
B shall then maintain the dish location and come down from the roof. Done :)

fOR THE PAST 3 MONTHS I HAVE EXPERIENCED MISSING CHANNELS, FIRST IN THE SECOND BEDROOM AND NOW IN THE LIVINGROOM, THE MASTER BEDROOM SEEMS TO ALWAYS BE OK, WHICH MAKES ME BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE CUTTING THE POWER.
SOMEHOW, WHEN I CALLED ABOUT THE SECOND BEDROOM, I WAS TOLD CABLE PROBLEM, I SAID NO ITS NOT, THEN TOLD THEM I NEEDED A SERVICE CALL.
BUT I DIDNT, AS SOON AS I HUNG UP, GUESS WHAT? ALL THE CHANNELS CAME BACK. NOW I AM EXPERIENCING THE SAME IN MY LIVING ROOM ;WHICH IS A TV WE SELDOM USE.
THEN WE CALLED AGAIN, THE REPRESENTATIVES SAID NOTHING COULD BE DONE WITHOUT A SERVICE CALL, I SAID :"STRANGE ALL THE CHANNELS CAME BACK WHEN I CALLED THE FIRST TIME AND WAS TOLD COINCIDENT".
I REFUSED TO HAVE THESE TECHS COME OUT AND SCRATCH THEIR HEADS AND LEAVE.
GUESS WHAT? THIS MORNING ALL THE CHANNELS ARE BACK. ANOTHER COINCIDENT MY OWN OPINION IS THAT THEY ARE CUTTING SERVICE TO THE TV'S IN YOUR HOUSE THAT ARE NOT USED A LOT.
I WAS GETTING HALF THE MOVIE CHANNELS, NONE OF THE LOCAL CHANNELS, AND ONLY UP TO 244 SCI FI, NONE OF THE OTHERS CAME IN.
HOW STRANGE THAT A SATELLITE TV CAN BE SO SELECTIVE. I REALIZE ALL TRANSPONDERS ARE NOT THE SAME, I PAY FOR THE SERVICE - WHAT I PAY FOR AND ITS NOT CHEAP.
IT'S THANKS GIVING AND WE WANT TO USE OUR BIG SCREEN TV IN LIVING ROOM ITS A GOOD THING. ITS WORKING TODAY, CAUSE I M READY TO CANCEL THE DIRECT TV SERVICE AND MOVE ON TO SOMETHING WORSE.
