Shall i turn off my Direct TV Receiver while not watching?

Should I turn my direct tv box off when I am not watching tv? Or is it ok to leave the box on and turn the tv off? Terrence Comment: You turn it off when not using to avoid over heat of your machine. As you know that all electric products is design to be coming with certain life span.
