Caller Id malfunction on my Direct TV Receiver HR21/700 by: Bernard Acton
I have a problem with the caller Id on my Direct TV Receiver. The Receiver is a HR21/700. I have been calling Direct TV Customer Service since June 23, 2009.
The last conversation was with someone in the Billing Department, who tried to correct this problem. Not much luck.
She said she would transfer my complaint to the engineering department. I asked her if someone would be getting back to me.
She said: "No",, just watch the TV Screen and eventually the problem would be fixed, by the phone number displaying on the TV Screen.
I ask her to replace my two receivers. She said:"No, the problem is with the phone company."
The phone company Verizon, checked their lines and said caller ID was activated and okay.
I am documenting my complaint and will be with my attorney to explore my legal options against Direct TV for breach of contract action.
I pay monthly for insurance to replace the receiver and other problems with their equipment..

I am having the same problem. I have caller ID on my phones. The phone line to my tv works, I tested a phone with it. The phone line is plugged into receiver tightly. I have the messages on, I have caller ID on. I have the converter for DSL on the tv phone line.
Yet...I can not get the caller id to display on the tv screen when a call comes in. I want to see who is calling while the phone is ringing. I want it to display on the tv screen. I had this working before I got the new HD receiver. The caller Id display is working on a older receiver in another room.
Why can't I get this feature to work? Help please?
