No Signal for Direct TV Channels that I pay for
by: Frank Pretty

I too have been a customer of direct tv since the mid '90s. What got me started with sat is that we travel with an rv and many of the campgrounds have little or no reception.

I pay for the rv package that provides me with the east and west locals but latley am getting no results for my money.

For the past few weeks I have been losing signal on 3 of the 4 east coast feeds. After several attempts to work with the phone service to solve the problem I come away frustrated and with no solution except to say they want to charge me for a service call. Since I do not have a land line, cell phone only, it gets expensive during those long sessions when the tech is running me thru the basics that I have been performing for years at locations all over the country.

The ironic part of this is that the sat signal on those 3 is good in the morning and progressivly goes to zero during the day. When I attempt to change the sat 101 transponder to strong signal it will not lock in when I go back to "watch tv". This only occurs on those 3.

I get tired of remarks by phone folk that my equipment is bad or that I am doing something wrong. When all works well and then fades away on a couple of signals on a repeating basis, logic dictates the problem is not at my end.

If anyone out there can tell me how to lock in a stronger signal by changing transponders when this fade of the signal occurs I would be a happy camper.

Is the type of thing that a company might do to boost service or equipment revenues?

I have never considered looking elsewhere but I may be forced to.

Really Frustrated!
