Ticked off Direct TV consumer

We have direct tv with a dvr box. For 2 weeks there has been a strobe light affect on the picture.

We called Direct TV and they said they were aware of the problem and engineer was working on it. They have no idea how long it will take to get this fixed.

I have been with them for 14 years. i asked if they would send a new dvr receiver, they said no. Its still under warranty. I was under the impression when i ordered the receiver it was new, but it is refurbished.

I paid $100 for a refurbished receiver when i was told it was new equipment. Does any one else have this problem?
