" Tivo is a brand of Direct TV DVR ( Digital Video Recorder ), it allow you to record your favorite shows when you are not free to watch them during the show time. With this device, you are able to record 2 program at the same time while you are watching the 3rd program. It is hardly to miss your favorite shows this way :) You can record programming that up to 100 hours for normal programming or 30 hours for HD Programming. You can also pause, rewind, replay and play in slow motion of live TV up to 90 minutes. This device is not a stand alone equipment; it is a build-in device in some of the receiver ( Of course, the receiver with DVR will be more expensive than the receiver without DVR ) Most of the HD Receiver has build in with the DVR device. Direct TV currently is partnering with Tivo to develop Tivo HD DVR Receiver, but the official launch date for this high tech device is unknown yet.
