When come to cost, Dish network will charge you additional USD 7.00 / TV set ( program access fees ) after the first 2 TVs is free.

If you want to have DVR service ( Digital video recorder ) service from Dish network, that allow you to pause, record, rewind and replay of your current Dish network channels that up to 30 minutes, you will need to pay for additional USD 6.00 / month - that you can chose to have any 2 TV set that come with DVR features if you agreed to pay for the USD 6.00 / month for DVR services.

When come to Direct TV, It allow you to have Direct TV programming maximum up to 4 rooms within the same house. The First Direct TV receiver is free, and from 2nd receiver onward, you will be charged USD 6.00 / additional receiver - no matter you are taking their standard receiver or HD receiver.

If you are taking their DVR service, you will be charged additional USD 6.00 / month per DVR.

So, We can see that Direct TV charged higher in term of the equipment leasing fees. If you want 3 Tvs in your house to have satellite tv programming, if you chose dish network, the additional cost to pay is 1 tv set x USD 7 / TV = USD 7.00 extra. ( First 2 Tv is free )

If you chose Direct TV, the additional cost will be USD 6.00 x 3sets = USD 18.00 (Only First TV is free )
