Upgrading my Direct TV Receiver

by Annoymous
(United States)

I went to radio shack and purchased an Hd DVR box. I have an Hd box(not a DVR) already. My question is can I use my existing card in the new box?

Terrence Comment: Hi, I am not a technical expert.. my suggestion is that you shall call up your HD receiver vendor and check with them whether the receiver model that you purchased will match with your current Direct TV access card or not.

In fact, you shall check with them before you had purchased your HD Receiver; and ensure you had buy the correct HD Receiver model that match with your Direct TV Card.

If they match, congratulations :) You will just need to slot in your existing Direct TV card to order your HD package from Direct TV to enjoy the HD Shows :)

If no, try to call up Direct TV and explain your situation and ask for a new Direct TV card from them to match your new HD Receiver :)

Good luck!
